The Jefferson Historical Society, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to researching, preserving, promoting, and celebrating the history, architecture and culture of the Town of Jefferson; nurturing community involvement and education; and interacting with and enhancing community culture and life.

The Jefferson Historical Society is committed to strengthening the connections between our history and our lives that we find in our community, today. Restoring the Maple Museum and Judd Hall (the former Masonic Hall) to be used for public events, has grounded us in our work to keep history alive. The concerts and programs we present in these buildings bring to life the experiences that people in Jefferson have enjoyed for nearly 200 years. If you visit the Jefferson Historical Society Facebook page you will find the photos and records of our past that families here have shared. Soon to be open upstairs in Judd Hall, the Jefferson Local History Museum will have displays of the photos, and items brought to the Society from former and current residents. A digital archive of photos and other ephemera will be made available for people to research.
