For our 2019 Maple School, we are excited to offer two hot topics in maple syrup production:
Managing Maple Energy Use, Evaluation and Efficiency (9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.) – Maple production has traditionally been a high energy use enterprise but with the introduction of the RO, preheater, steam-away and piggyback significant strides have been made in improving energy efficiency. Yet many questions remain; how high should I run the RO, what energy saving equipment works well with others and which do not go well together? How long will it take to pay for energy saving equipment out of the fuel savings? How do I calculate my savings? These and many other questions will be covered in this session.
Building Your Own Low Cost Reverse Osmosis (RO) Unit (11 a.m. – noon) – How do I size it? Where do I get the parts? How do I determine the expected capacity? How does it go together? When should I just purchase an RO? This session will answer many such questions.
Classes are FREE and suitable for both new and seasoned maple producers.
Pre-Register for one session or both.
