Grammy award winners and Smithsonian Folkways recording artists Los TexManiacs mix the simplest yet finest ingredients of Texas music to create a sound solidly rooted in tradition, exploding with contemporary vitality.

Los TexManiacs’ highly energetic live shows incorporate elements from rock & roll, jazz, polka, waltz, and western swing, while still honoring the roots of conjunto tejano.
Examples of past performances include The Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and many major festivals overseas, as well as appearances on Austin City Limits, NPR, A Prairie Home Companion, and American Routes.

The band was founded in 1997 by Max Baca, the premier first call Bajo Sexto (a traditional 12-string guitar like instrument) player in the world. Baca has appeared on 11 Grammy winning projects with artists as diverse as The Rolling Stones, Ricky Skaggs, Los Super Seven, Lila Downs, and Texas Tornados.
