Hanford Mills Museum

Enjoy a guided tour of our historic working sawmill, gristmill and woodworking shop, powered by water and steam. Museum shop features local crafts, honey and maple products as well as Mill-made wine racks and crates. Open Wednesdays – Sundays, May 15 – October 15. The Learning Lab offers hands-on fun for young children. 

The mission of Hanford Mills Museum is to inspire audiences of all ages to explore connections between energy, technology, natural resources and entrepreneurship in rural communities with a focus on sustainable choices. The Museum, which is listed on the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places, is located at the intersection of Delaware County Routes 10 and 12, just 10 miles from Oneonta, 15 miles from Delhi. Kids 12 and under receive free admission.

Festivals: Independence Day Celebration on July 4, Dan Rion Memorial Antique Engine Jamboree & Powerfest on September 12, Woodsmen's Festival on October 3, and Ice Harvest Festival on February 6, 2021. Hanford Mills also offers Family Saturdays, workshops, and programs throughout the year, see hanfordmills.org for details.
