Back by popular demand! The 8th Annual Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2019, from 5: 30 to 7:30 p.m., and will feature gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and soup creations by local chefs, along with local beers by Brewery Ommegang and wines by Pail Shop Vineyards. The event will take place in the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, 101 Main Street (in Pioneer Alley), Cooperstown, which will allow participating chefs to be part of the party! Otsego 2000 is once again organizing this popular event, with proceeds to benefit Otsego 2000’s Historic Preservation program.

This year’s event highlights the gourmet sandwich making talents of Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause veterans Alex Webster, Alex’s Bistro; Tim Searles, Doubleday Café; Jesse Pascale, Rock Hill Farm; Brian Wrubleski, Mel’s at 22; and Trevor Huntsman, Café Ommegang. Each chef will be using a different local cheese, including Byebrook Farm Gouda, Spurbeck’s Grocery Cheddar, Windy Hill Goat Dairy, Mountain View Dairy, Harpersfield Cheese Tomato Basil, and Byebrook Farm Three Philosophers Beer-Washed Gouda. Delicious homemade soup and chili will be provided by Townsend Catering and Doubleday Café. The Otesaga Hotel and Marjorie Landers Wedding and Specialty Cakes will be providing scrumptious desserts. Brewery Ommegang beers and Pail Shop Vineyards wines will be featured, along with local sweet cider.

Live music will once again be provided by Stoddard Hollow String Band, featuring traditional American music by Marvin Zachow (fiddle & vocals), Ed McGee (banjo), Joel Murray (bass), and Frank Frazzitta (guitar & vocals).

Tickets to the event are $30/adult and $15/child 6 – 12 years. Children under six are admitted free of charge.
